Church and Art Network was started by Luann Purcell Jennings in 2010. Luann has led arts ministries in two churches (Intown Community Church, Atlanta, and Redeemer Presbyterian Church, NYC) and served as an administrator and regional board member for Christians in Theatre Arts (CITA), while also working professionally as a theatre director and arts administrator/educator.
In more than fifteen years of integrating her faith with her creative work, Luann observed that arts leaders in churches, Christian schools and organizations often felt alone and ill-equipped. Where could arts leaders and others go to get their questions answered about faith and the arts, and learn from others with experience in living out those answers in practical ways? These leaders and artists also felt a deep need for community and mentoring with others working in the same areas.
Luann began C&A to help meet these dual needs for information and relationship, utilizing modern technology without neglecting the old-fashioned phone call or cup of coffee when only the human touch will do.
